Switching from Booqable in a weekend (and what surprised us)

A field guide for operators planning a migration. What works, what doesn’t, what to do first.

GoGo Team
Operations

We migrated three locations off Booqable to GoGo Engine in a weekend. Here’s the field guide for operators thinking about the same move.

First, run the math. Don’t move on faster software unless faster software pays for itself. We modeled a 10-point utilization lift and a 4-point conversion lift, both of which we’d already seen at sister operators.

Second, do the data work yourself. Export bookings, units, and customers from your current tool, even if your migration partner offers to. You’ll find the legacy weirdness (the ‘walk-in’ customer with no email, the ‘test booking’ from 2019, the unit you sold last year) and decide what to do with each.

Third, dry-run against last month. Replay last month’s bookings in the new system. Reconcile the totals to the cent. If anything’s off, fix it before you cut over.

Fourth, cut over on a quiet hour. Tuesday at 9am is ideal. Have your old system in read-only mode for two weeks so you can pull anything you need.

What surprised us: the customers didn’t notice. The portal was rebranded for our domain on day one. The booking widget loaded faster, but they didn’t know why. The internal team noticed the speed within the first hour.
